Lina Hodgkins, fondly known as “Mummy Marbella”, a British expat and hugely successful businesswoman, is a central figure in Marbella’s nightlife, famed for her role as Group Marketing Director for the Linekers Group.
With over two decades of experience, she has choreographed countless hen and stag parties, private events, and high-energy nights at iconic Puerto Banus venues like TIBU nightclub, Linekers, and Portside. Her infectious energy, glamorous style, and knack for creating unforgettable experiences have made her a household name on the Costa del Sol, further amplified by her appearances on ITVBe’s Life on Marbs and Playa in Marbella with Elliott Wright. Recently, she celebrated her own hen party with 65 friends ahead of her wedding in Las Vegas, a rare moment where the party planner let others take the reins. Below, Lina shares insights into her bustling career, memorable moments, and plans for the future.
What venues are you working with most at the moment?
“Kova Beach is taking most of my time, as it is a new venue, and nobody had any preconceived ideas on how this would pan out, as it didn’t open until towards the end of May, but it has been a phenomenal success, and the reservations and enquiries have not stopped since opening. Of course, the other venues can’t be neglected, so I am always busy with TIBU, as it is such a large venue to keep up to date with, as there are so many promoters and live acts, international DJs, etc., but again, it has had an exceptional year, plus Kova restaurant, located inside TIBU nightclub, has had a great year with private parties. I am right in the middle of sorting a huge 6-figure sum for a private party in there for 2026. Linekers also takes a huge amount of time, as it is the stag and hen venue of Puerto Banus, not just Puerto Banus, but the complete Costa del Sol. It really is the party bar of the port alongside its sister bar, Portside, which will keep going all year with the live sport and all the girly bar staff. Lastly, Babilonia, which is probably the most stylish bar in Puerto Banus, also stays open during the winter, so even though it is coming to the end of the season, there is still a lot to go at!”
How many people have booked with you so far this year?
“I haven’t finished counting yet, but in the region of 40,000, I offer the best service, so I receive an awful lot of repeat business and new clients.”
Of all the parties you’ve hosted, do you have any really wild ones you remember particularly?
“I couldn’t pick one; there have been so, so many, and that old saying, ‘What goes on in Banus, stays in Banus!’”
With the summer almost over, where’s hot other than Banus?
“Although Banus quietens down a lot, there is still life in the port. I have moved along the coast to Puerto De La Duquesa, which means a hidden gem, well worth a visit for a 30 min drive.”
Could you ever stop doing what you do?
“Well, sometimes it is totally exhausting, but then you see people having the time of their lives and just loving life in Puerto Banus; it makes it all worthwhile. Also 2026 is the World Cup, which is always my absolute favourite time; it really is the best atmosphere at Linekers and Portside, so I would definitely not want to miss that.”
Where’s your honeymoon going to be?
“Well, we are getting married in the little white chapel with Elvis. We are only there 24 hours when we get married, so we are spending another 8 days there to enjoy all that Vegas has to offer.”
Lina Hodgkins, “Mummy Marbella”, doesn’t stop. She is always where the party is at with her effervescent, joyous and infectious personality. Yet, behind the scenes, she is a meticulous, determined, and extremely serious businesswoman who has the skills to be nothing short of the best in her field.
