Ashmin Kaul a 31-year-old native of New Delhi India has managed an extraordinary transition from Engineering into the world of Finance. With a career spanning over 5+ years Ashmin’s journey is a testament of unparalleled excellence and hard work. Ashmin graduated in 2016 with a B. Tech degree in Computer Engineering from NMIMS University Mumbai. Over the years he has created exceptional value for his stakeholders across major industries like IT Consulting and Healthcare Finance. He has pursued internships at multiple Fortune 500 companies & received offers from some of the largest IT Consulting Companies in the world. In 2018 he worked with very senior stakeholders at one of the largest corporate houses in the country in their Internal Audit department to build novel advanced analytics applications in areas like Benford’s law Text Similarity Detection and Process Mining. At the time there was no existing vendor or solution anywhere in the country to solve such complex problems. Ashmin due to his technical and innovative capability conducted thorough secondary research identified the right tools and technologies built the code and created dashboards that perfectly addressed the clients needs thereby saving them large resources. He even conducted technical training sessions to help his team and senior stakeholders understand the importance of analytics in business. His contribution earned him multiple excellence awards and gave him solid exposure in analytics. His work also helped his vendor company to enter a new business vertical by offering proposals in Advanced Data Analytics to prospective clients. He later transitioned into the field of Finance and went to the US to earn his MS Finance degree at the prestigious Purdue University which enabled him to build a thriving career in one of the most dominant Medical Device companies in the whole world. He currently single-handedly manages the financial planning and analysis process for operating expenditures across 20+ countries works with senior stakeholders in managing and providing guidance regarding their expense budgets worth millions of dollars handles the month-end close to get the company’s books right and performs thorough variance analyses to ensure accuracy. He is an expert in financial ERP systems accrual accounting and business storytelling. His work is instrumental in ensuring accurate reporting of financials worth billions of dollars which impact the investment decisions of large financial institutions and investors all around the world. He has been awarded numerous excellence awards based on his merit performance and community initiatives over the years. Majority of his work is focused on overcoming challenges and finding innovative ways of simplifying the processes. Besides his professional contributions he has authored and published multiple research papers with prominent journals in Data Science and has also been called to judge competitions by prestigious US-based educational institutions and NGO’s. With his vast experience in Data Science & Finance he continues to find new avenues and opportunities to build his skillset and contribute to these fields. As per the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) there is considerable growth and demand for these skills in the next ten years.
