British billionaire Sir Richard Branson, the adventurous founder of Virgin Group with an estimated net worth of $2.8 billion, recently had a rather unexpected experience on the busy streets of New York City – he was completely ignored. Despite being one of the most recognizable entrepreneurs in the world, Branson found himself treated like just another stranger with a microphone as he tried to engage passersby in conversation. Branson was in the city to promote his latest initiative, “Doorbell of Dreams,” a campaign designed to inspire everyday people to share their business ideas in under 60 seconds. Launched in partnership with entrepreneur Simon Squibb and his startup HelpBnk, the project uses a specially designed video doorbell that allows aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch ideas and potentially receive mentorship, funding, or guidance. Originally introduced in the UK, the initiative has now expanded to New York, with Virgin Hotels serving as a key venue. As part of the promotion, Branson took to the streets, politely asking New Yorkers if he could ask them a question. Most people brushed past him without a second glance. The entire interaction was captured on camera by Squibb and later posted to Instagram, where it quickly went viral. The footage shows a mix of reactions—some people walked by without acknowledging him, while others briefly glanced before hurrying away. For Branson, who has built a global business empire spanning airlines, music, and even space travel, this was a rare moment of anonymity. He laughed off the rejection, joking, “I’m not doing too well, am I?” Squibb quipped that a bit of rejection is healthy, turning the experience into a lesson about humility. Social media users praised Branson’s attitude, calling the clip both amusing and inspiring. Many said it was refreshing to see a billionaire step out of his comfort zone and interact with the public so casually.Live EventsAdd as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
