Jackie Chan is not dead. Yet another death hoax, claiming that the actor has passed away, has set the internet ablaze. The 71-year-old actor is very much alive and thriving. The actor, famous for performing his own death-defying stunts, has openly discussed occasions when he genuinely wondered if a stunt would be his last. Chan has sustained numerous serious injuries, including a near-fatal accident in which he fractured his skull during the filming of Armour of God in 1986.One of his riskier stunts in recent years was for the 2020 movie Vanguard. The legendary actor got trapped underwater while filming a Jet Ski chase scene. “Wow, this scared me to death,” the actor said in a behind-the-scenes video.Yes, Jackie Chan too gets scared. He is not immune to fear. But the actor does not let fear control him. During an appearance at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, Jackie Chan said, “I’m no Superman. I am scared. Before a stunt, I go: ‘Am I going to die this time?’”He continued: “The audience doesn’t know about the rain, the producer, or that the budget was cut. They just want a good movie. I always remember that, so I try to make every scene perfect. I think old movies were better than [what we have] today.”Talking to USA Today, the film’s director, Stanley Tong, said, “We wanted to show the outtakes to prove that even though Jackie is 66 years old, he’s a professional actor and loves action.”The latest hoaxJackie Chan has become one of the most searched people after a death hoax started to spread on social media. Some posts claim that Jackie Chan passed away “after a battle with complications from decades of on-set injuries”. The post also claims that Jackie Chan’s family confirmed the news. However, none of these claims is true. There are also similar posts claiming that the actor died from unspecified health complications. “Jackie Chan, the legendary 2016 honorary Oscar winner, has been confirmed dead after months of treatment — and the cryptic words from his family have sparked more questions than answers,” reads another false claim. The legendary martial arts star is well, and probably laughing at these false claims!Meanwhile, on the work front, Jackie Chan was most recently seen in Karate Kid: Legends and the 2025 Chinese film The Shadow’s Edge. The superstar has many movies in development, including the rumoured next instalment of the Rush Hour franchise.
