Kanye West and Takashi Murakami reunited during the former's appearance at Travis Scott's concert in Japan on Saturday, November 8. The two artists have collaborated multiple times previously, with their link going as far back as 2007.Travis Scott is currently on his Circus Maximus Tour and performed at the Belluna Dome in Tokorozawa, Japan, on Saturday. To everyone's surprise, he brought out Kanye West, aka Ye, on stage as they performed the latter's songs together. After the show, a picture emerged on social media of Ye with Takashi Murakami.Murakami is a Japanese artist known for collaborating with top artists and brands in different fields. His artwork varies from fine art to big commercial projects involving digital art. Kanye West and Takashi Murakami first collaborated in 2007 on the rapper's third studio album, Graduation. The artist made the album's cover art, depicting Ye as an animated bear in space, along with colorful depictions and illustrations. About that collaboration, Murakami had said in an interview (h/t ArtLife):“The cover is based on Kanye’s theme of student life. School. It’s a place of dreams, of righteousness, a place to have fun. It’s also occasionally a place where you experience the rigid dogma of the human race." "Kanye’s music scrapes sentimentality and aggressiveness together like sandpaper, and he uses his grooves to unleash this tornado that spins with the zeitgeist of the times. I too wanted to be swept up and spun around in that tornado,” he added.Post this, Murakami and Ye also collaborated in 2018. The rapper had formed a duo with Kid Cudi named Kids See Ghosts, and they released an album of the same name on June 8, 2018. Murakami created the cover image for this album, depicting Mount Fuji in the background with an almost psychedelic illustration in front of it with ghost-like figures. Also Read: “Don't fall for the banana in the tailpipe”: Mike Dean seemingly reacts to Kanye West performing at Travis Scott's show amid beef rumorsTravis Scott brings out Kanye West after hinting at collaboration earlier this yearROC NATION SPORTS: Rn. 1st Annual Roc City Classic Starring Kevin Durant x Kanye West (Image Source: Getty)Travis Scott brought out Kanye West during his concert in Japan on Saturday. That’s my kid’s uncle. That guy took me in when I was young, when I was like 19. He taught me a lot about music. And not even just 'taught' me, but he allowed me to experience the creation of music. To create music with him, it’s what helped me grow, making a lot of beats. Whether it’s writing and collabing on music and film or clothes or whatever the f*ck it is, just constantly learning…"This came after Ye claimed in March this year that Scott left him out of Utopia for no reason.
