Martin Scorsese has officially confirmed his next film will be an adaptation of Peter Cameron’s 2023 ghost story, What Happens at Night.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are set to star as an American couple travelling to Europe to adopt a baby, who encounter increasingly baffling obstacles at their hotel.
This project marks the seventh collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio, with filming scheduled to commence in January.
Scorsese, who was originally attached to produce, will now direct the psychological drama, which features a script by playwright Patrick Marber.
The decision to proceed with What Happens at Night means other potential projects, including adaptations of The Wager and The Life of Jesus, have been postponed.
