Charlie Kirk, a well-known conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA, died after being shot in the neck during an event at Utah Valley University (UVU) on September 10. He was 31 years old. It organizes conferences and events for young people to discuss political issues such as economics, immigration, and race, as per New York Times report. Turning Point USA has played a role in encouraging young people, particularly Gen Z men, to support President Trump in elections. Donald Trump Jr. called Kirk “one of the true rock stars of this movement.” The group also hosts several podcasts, including The Charlie Kirk Show, which focuses on right-wing politics, and Culture Apothecary, led by Alex Clark, which covers conservative views on lifestyle and wellness. Earlier this month, Kirk had begun his “American Comeback Tour,” visiting colleges across the US to speak on conservative issues. In June, Turning Point USA organized a large gathering of young conservative women, where Kirk and his wife, Erika, spoke about putting marriage before careers. Turning Point USA is also planning its annual event, AmericaFest, in December, which is expected to feature prominent right-wing figures such as Greg Gutfeld, Glenn Beck, and Jack Posobiec.
