What Is Tom Brady’s Role at Las Vegas Raiders? Does Minority Owner Assist in Coaching? All About His Football Responsibilities
The Las Vegas Raiders‘ Monday night game show brought a surprise plot twist: Tom Brady was seated in the coaches’ booth for the game. Offense coordinator Chip Kelly is said to meet with Brady several times per week to discuss game plans, as per NFL Spotlight host Ari Meirov.
Brady became a formal minority owner of the Raiders in 2023, a transaction heavily presented as a long-term business and branding strategy. Prior to this, his involvement was perceived to be largely symbolic, showing up to team functions, informally advising quarterbacks, and lending his name to the firm’s image. Monday night’s visit to Arrowhead implies otherwise: hands-on commitment to the team’s weekly preparation and game-day operations.
According to the broadcast, Brady isn’t officially a coach, but his movie sessions and situational input have in effect made him an unofficial consultant to Kelly and the Raiders’ offensive unit. That might mean his fingerprints are on everything from third-down package sets to quarterback reads — basically, a Hall of Fame mind inserted into the Raiders’ offensive brain trust.

It’s not clear how much latitude this position covers under NFL bylaws, which are restrictive about the activities of non-employees and minority owners on the sideline or in the booth. But at the moment, Las Vegas fans get to see a rare combination of ownership and coaching input.
