First Lady Melania Trump announced the launch of Fostering the Future Together on Tuesday, a global coalition focused on helping children manage changes in education, innovation and technology.
The coalition’s mission is “to ensure that every child can flourish in the digital era,” the first lady said. “Innovation is wonderful. Our nations benefit from advancements in technology—saving lives, expanding access to knowledge, connecting people, and of course, safety.”
Her remarks on the coalition were made during the U.N. General Assembly meetings. She attended the speech given by her husband, President Donald Trump, to the General Assembly on Tuesday.
Melania Trump said her mission is to prioritize children’s development at the intersection of technology and education.
“Great minds have turned marbles into microchips, paper airplanes into drones, and kites into satellites,” she said. “Remember, our next generation will use tech to revolutionize how we live, travel, design, and connect.”
The objectives of Fostering the Future Together’s initial phase include:
Prioritization of personal development of children.
Unification of efforts surrounding children, technology, and education.
Collaboration with the private sector to provide access to innovative education technology, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and blockchain.
Exchange of solutions encompassing advantages and risks of artificial intelligence.
Members of the coalition will include the spouses — or equivalent representatives — of several heads of government. The initiatives of Fostering the Future together will be implemented by all participating members and officials at the local level, within their own countries.
The first lady will host the inaugural meeting of the coalition at the White House during the first part of 2026.
