Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition myositis in 2022, often talks about her journey with health. In a recent interview too, the actress opened up about her evolved relationship with health and shared that she is grateful for living an ‘uncomplicated life’ today.
“There’s a saying that goes, ‘You can have 100 problems until you have a health problem, and after that you only have one problem—and that’s the health problem.’ Everything in life circles back to looking after my health,” Samantha told Grazia.
The actress mentioned that she is very particular about what she eats and her sleep cycle and added by saying, “I’m stricter than I used to be about sleep, food, mental health, because of this situation I’m in. Honestly, it’s a lot more of a simpler life and in a weird way I’m grateful for everything because now I get to lead an uncomplicated life.”
When Was Samantha Diagnosed With Myositis?
Samantha Ruth Prabhu was diagnosed with myositis in 2022. For her treatment, the actress announced her break from acting in July 2023, i.e. after wrapping up the Citadel India shoot. Back then, the actress took to her Instagram handle and shared that her health is her priority. “And it’s a wrap on #CitadelIndia. A break doesn’t seem like a bad thing at all when you know what’s coming @rajanddk @mensit The family I didn’t know I needed Thank you for helping me fight every single battle and never ever giving up on me..I wish more than anything in the world to make you proud..Thank you for the role of a lifetime.. i.e until you write me the next☺️♥️,” she had written.

On the work front, Samantha was last seen in Citadel Honey Bunny with Varun Dhawan. While the show was loved by all, it was recently reported that Citadel will not be renewed for a second season. The second season of the Indian spin-off of Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden’s show has been cancelled.
