Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation, urged citizens, state governments, MSMEs and local enterprises to boost production and ‘Make in India’.”What the nation needs and what can be made in India should be made within India itself,” he said. “Mantra of Swadeshi gave strength to freedom movement, Swadeshi will also strengthen our quest for prosperity.””Today, knowingly or unknowingly, many foreign products have become a part of our everyday lives… We should buy products that are Made in India, in which the hard work of our country’s youth is invested,” Modi added.Emphasizing on the ‘Make in India’ mission, Modi said that every household should be a symbol of swadesh and every shop must adorn swadeshi to keep up on the path of the mission. “India’s prosperity will draw strength from self-reliance,” he said.In his address to the nation, PM said that as India walks on the path of self-reliance, a very big responsibility to make India self-reliant also lies on the MSMEs. He further added that the reduction in GST rates and the simplification of rules and procedures will greatly benefit all MSMEs, small industries, and cottage industries. The next-gen GST reforms are set to be effective from September 22, Monday.“Quality of Indian products will boost the nation’s prestige,” Modi said urging MSMEs and all small-scale industries to make quality goods that meet global parameters and quality standards.
