Many of these institutions mislead students by using words like “university,” “United Nations,” or “state government” in their names. Two institutions have been declared fake in Kerala. International Islamic University of Prophetic Medicine (IIUPM), Kozhikode St. John's University, Kishanattam Maharashtra Only one fake university has been identified in Maharashtra, Raja Arabic University, located in Nagpur. Sri Bodhi Academy of Higher Education in Puducherry has been declared fake by UGC. It is located at Thilaspet of Vazhutavur Road and was offering unofficial courses in the name of higher education. Uttar Pradesh A total of four fake universities have been listed in Uttar Pradesh: Gandhi Hindi Vidyapeeth, Prayagraj Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Open University, Aligarh Education Council of India, Lucknow Mahamaya Technical University, Noida These institutes offer degree and diploma courses to students but none are authorized by the UGC.
