Encountered the workslop yet?

Last week, the internet saw the emergence of a new buzzword to describe AI-generated work content that appears good but lacks substance.

“[Y]ou might recall the feeling of confusion after opening such a document, followed by frustration,” researchers from Stanford University, who collaborated with leadership coaching platform BetterUp for the study, said. “You begin to wonder if the sender simply used AI to generate large blocks of text instead of thinking it through.”

“If this sounds familiar, you have been workslopped,” they added in an article on Harvard Business Review.

Elsewhere, the US stock market is reportedly in uncharted waters. At a whopping 217%, the market valuation tool, the Buffett indicator, now sits above the peaks reached during the Dotcom Bubble, as well as the pandemic-era rally in 2001, when it topped 190%.

The indicator measures the total value of publicly traded US stocks against the nation’s gross national product, CNBC reports.

WeWork India plans Rs 3,000 Cr IPO
WeWork India is preparing to launch its initial public offering on October 3, in a share sale expected to raise nearly Rs 3,000 crore, according to people familiar with the matter. The offer will close on October 7, with anchor investor bidding opening on October 1, per the company’s red herring prospectus.

The company’s IPO comes amid a wave of coworking-focused listings in India. Awfis Space Solutions Ltd, for example, went public in May 2024, while Smartworks Coworking Spaces listed this July.

Key takeaways:

The IPO will consist entirely of an offer for sale of up to 46.3 million equity shares. Promoter group firm Embassy Buildcon LLP and investor 1 Ariel Way Tenant Ltd., part of WeWork Global, will sell shares in the offering.
Bengaluru-based Embassy Group currently holds about 76% of the company, while WeWork Global owns roughly 23%.
In its filing, WeWork India said the listing aims to enhance visibility, provide liquidity for existing shareholders, and create a public market for its stock.

The making of Anand Sweets’ legacy

Started as a single store in 1988, Bengauru’s popular sweet brand Anand Sweets has now become the go=to destination for all sweet purchases, redefining how consumers perceive and present traditional mithai.

The company is working towards restoring Mysore pak’s past glory, and placing it in modern gifting—with the use of premium packaging.

Sweet tooth:
At the core of Anand Sweets’ latest initiative is Managing Director Arvind Dadu, who joined his father’s business in 2001.
Premium packaging has elevated Anand into a giftable brand, especially strengthening its presence in airports and quick-commerce, where impulse gifting is a key driver.
Anand operates 15 exclusive retail stores, all company-owned, in Bengaluru, along with airport stores at Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Kochi airports.
