Westbound traffic snarled on Interstate 26

The two rightmost lanes of Interstate 26 westbound past mile marker 210 are closed to traffic the morning of Oct. 2.
As of 9:30 a.m., multiple emergency crews were on the scene, including a bucket truck suspending a crewmember from a mechanical arm as the worker inspected the Eagle Drive overpass bridge spanning I-26, according to traffic cameras maintained by the state Department of Transportation.
North Charleston police report that the overpass bridge is closed to vehicular traffic due to a collision. A commercial vehicle struck the bridge causing damage, said agency spokesperson Harve Jacobs.
It is unclear if any injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.
The westbound lanes of I-26 have been closed for more than an hour, causing a significant traffic slowdown as commuters travel into the downtown Charleston area.
Shortly before 10 a.m., traffic movement was severely slowed for miles before the incident.
