Indian Idol, the popular singing reality show, will soon return with another season! Music composer Vishal Dadlani took to his Instagram account to share a behind-the-secenes video with fellow judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah, confirming that the trio is returning for Indian Idol 16. This comes months after Vishal bid goodbye to the reality show. Back in April, he shared the reason behind his exit, stating that he wants to get back to making music and playing concerts, and that he cannot stay stuck in Mumbai for 6 months each year. However, looks like he will be joining the latest season of Indian Idol as a judge after all!
Vishal Dadlani Returns As Judge On Indian Idol 16
On Wednesday, Vishal Dadlani took to his Instagram account to share a fun-filled BTS video with Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah. The playful video shows them striking several poses. In his caption, Vishal confirmed his return, and informed fans that Indian Idol 16 will premiere from October 18. “Two posers (don’t miss @shreyaghoshal ‘s last Guplu-max pose) and itsyo-seedha-saada @badboyshah not changing position even once! To answer your question, yes, we are all back for #IndianIdol16. So is all the incredible talent that Idol brings!! Are you ready? See you from October 18 onwards, on @sonytvofficial,” he wrote. Soon after he shared the video, Meiyang Chang commented, “The Gang is back,” while Shreya Ghoshal dropped laughing emojis. “Delighted to have our 3 musketeers back,” wrote one netizen, while another one commented, “Wooww this amazing judge panel is back… What a vibe to this judge panel just mind blowing. Shreya ghoshal can’t wait to see you again every week in TV. Love you SG.” A third comment read, “Can’t wait for it to start.”
About Indian Idol 16
As per reports, Udit Narayan will be hosting this season of Indian Idol 16 as his son Aditya Narayan is currently on the reality show Rise And Fall. Mid-Day reported that Aditya will return to the show once he wraps up Rise And Fall. Indian Idol’s new season is releasing on 18th October 2025, on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
When Vishal Dadlani Bid Goodbye To Indian Idol
In April this year, Vishal Dadlani shared a post on social media that read, “Alvida, yaaro. 6 seasons mein jitna mazaa kiya, uss se bhi zyada yaad aayegi. Haqq se zyada pyaar milaa hai, iss show ki vajah se. Eternally grateful to everyone involved. I hope the show will miss me as much as I’ll miss it. I’m literally only leaving because I want my time back. Can’t stay stuck in Mumbai for 6 months each year!”
He further added, “Thanks Shreya, Badshah, Adi, Aradhana, Chitra, Anand ji, Sonal, Pratibha, Sahil, Saloni, Muskaan, Abisha, the entire production crew, Vilas Pakya, Kaushik (Pinky), and all the co-judges, singers and musicians down the years! It really has been home!!! That stage is pure LOVE! Time to get back to making music, playing concerts and almost never putting on make-up! Jai ho!”
