Robert Anderson, Carl York, Matt Case and Cara Cooper have all won individual weeks at different times throughout the season. But what if everyone wins the same week? What if no one does?
Instead of a single winner, three panelists lay claim to the Week 6 high school football game picks. Anderson, York and Case all went 19-4 to finish atop the standings. So let’s reward all three with a victory.
Bryson Gordon ended one game behind them at 18-5 and Cara Cooper followed at 17-6.
Anderson was in the minority of those who correctly picked Buffalo Gap to beat Rockbridge County and GW-Danville to beat William Fleming, but lost the week outright by being the lone panelist to tab Montcalm, West Virginia, to beat Roanoke Catholic and Honaker to beat Chilhowie.
Case lost a lone victory with Rockbridge County and Fleming both losing, while York did the same by being the only one who picked Rappahannock to beat Northside.
For this week, York is going out on a limb by being the only panelist picking George Wythe to beat Grayson County and Patrick County to surprise Radford. Gordon, meanwhile, stands alone in picking Cave Spring to beat Salem and Staunton River to beat William Fleming in a couple of upsets.
Anderson is also the only one picking Narrows to beat Parry McCluer and Cooper is the only one picking Liberty to beat Rustburg.
In The Roanoke Times game of the week, the panelist is pretty split as Gordon, York and Cooper are picking William Byrd, while Anderson and Case are tabbing Northside.
