Week 6 Lincoln high school football preview: Two-Minute Drill

Here’s a look at the Week 6 high school football slate around the Capital City.
Northeast (4-1) at Southwest (1-4), Thursday, 7 p.m., Seacrest — Southwest earned its first victory of the season last week and will look to build upon its momentum against a Northeast team that it defeated last season. Coming off a setback against Omaha North, the Rockets could secure the program’s first five-win season since 2018.
Class B No. 2 Norris (5-0) at Standing Bear (2-3), Thursday, 7 p.m., UBT Stadium — Norris quarterback Evan Greenfield leads one of Class B’s best offenses into a matchup that’s sure to be full of scoring. In Standing Bear’s two previous games against similarly ranked opponents, Omaha Skutt and Waverly, it allowed 42 points on both occasions.
Meridian (2-2) at Parkview Christian (1-3), Friday, 4 p.m. — The Parkview Christian offense had moments of promise in last week’s loss to Pawnee City, but consistency is the next step. The Patriots will now face a Meridian team whose only losses are to ranked opponents.
Lincoln High (4-1) at Southeast (2-3), Friday, 4:30 p.m., Seacrest — A difficult schedule has produced a three-game losing skid for Southeast, which must refocus for the stretch run. Lincoln High possesses an excellent rushing attack, and just like Northeast, could secure its winningest season since 2018 with a victory this weekend.
No. 8 East (4-1) at Millard North (1-4), Friday, 7 p.m. — East has now won its last four games behind a dominant defense, while quarterback Turner Wilkie is settling in atop the Spartan offense. Millard North’s poor record is slightly deceiving, having faced some of Class A’s best competition, but a low-scoring offense could spell trouble for its winning chances.
Omaha Northwest (0-5) at North Star (2-3), Friday, 7 p.m., UBT Stadium — Unable to get the most out of its offense in last week’s loss to Omaha Westview, the Navigators could return to winning ways against a struggling Northwest program. The Huskies have been outscored 171-12 across a winless start.
Pius X (2-3) at Class B No. 6 Omaha Skutt (4-1), Friday, 7 p.m. — Pius X will look for more out of its rushing attack during its third matchup against a ranked opponent in the last four weeks. Having scored a season-high 19 points two weeks prior, can the Thunderbolts manage a similar effort against Omaha Skutt?
Northwest (1-4) at York (3-2), Friday, 7 p.m. — Northwest is generating plenty of big plays this year, but it’s allowed more during its losing efforts. York has won its last two games and knows its scoring target for Friday; the Dukes have scored 21, 20 and 21 points in their victories.
Class C-1 No. 2 Central City (5-0) at Lincoln Christian (2-3), Friday, 7 p.m. — Beaten by a pass-heavy Milford offense that threw four passing touchdowns last week, Lincoln Christian now must prepare for a similar challenge from Class C-1’s top-ranked team. The opponent to come closest against the Bison, Adams Central, still lost by 29 points.
Class C-2 No. 8 Lincoln Lutheran (4-1) at Conestoga (1-4), Friday, 7 p.m. — The Warriors got a big defensive effort in last week’s victory over Raymond Central and will head into their next matchup as favorites. Conestoga has scored just 15 points across its four losses.
