With Week 3 in the books, it’s time for fantasy managers to turn their attention to the waiver wire ahead of Week 4. Let’s take a look at some key targets this week.
Some of these players have been in the NFL for years, others are just scratching the surface of their fantasy potential. These four should make the most of their opportunities this week. (Fantasy stats via Yahoo!Sports)
RB Trey Benson | Arizona Cardinals
Arizona’s third-year running back has 21 carries for a team-high 125 yards and two rushes for over 20 yards over the past three games, while James Conner saw 32 carries before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in Sunday’s 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Without Conner, and only Emari Demercado behind him, Benson should assume lead back duties for the rest of the season. His first test will come at home on Thursday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks, who he averaged 4.5 yards per carry against in limited action last season and a team giving up the third-most fantasy points to running backs after three games.
Benson remains available in 48 percent of leagues.
WR Luther Burden III | Chicago Bears
A second-round pick of the Bears in this year’s draft, Burden has seen six targets while playing behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze, but his three-catch, 101-yard performance against the Cowboys on Sunday should earn him more playing time.
His touchdown didn’t hurt either as Burden found himself on the receiving end of a 65-yard flea-flicker late in the second quarter to put the Bears up 14-3 over the Dallas Cowboys in a game they’d win 31-14. Burden had five catches for 76 yards in the preseason, but managed just two catches for two yards in his first two games.
He looked much better in Week 3, earning 19.80 fantasy points for his efforts and he could be pulling away from Olamide Zaccheaus as the team’s No. 3 receiver.
As long as quarterback Caleb Williams continues to improve, Burden’s 4.43 speed should bring more opportunities in upcoming games against the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders.
Burden remains available in 89 percent of leagues.
TE Hunter Henry | New England Patriots
So much for Stefon Diggs punching up last year’s 32nd-ranked passing offense. New England may own the league’s eighth ranked passing offense, but after three games, the 30-year-old tight end Henry is the Patriots leading receiver, just like he was in 2024.
Henry caught eight of 11 targets for 90 yards, a pair of touchdowns and a league-high 20.90 fantasy points in last week’s 21-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, his first two-score game since 2023.
He had all of two scores with New England last year but with a team-high 22 targets, Henry has the third-most fantasy points (41.5) among tight ends and clearly has the eye of second-year quarterback Drake Maye.
Henry remains available in 40 percent of leagues.
WR Tre Tucker | Las Vegas Raiders
Jacobi Meyers may lead the team’s wide receivers with 17 receptions and 228 yards, but Tucker isn’t far behind with 211 yards on 14 catches. More importantly, he’s tied with Chicago’s Odunze for the league lead with four touchdowns, one fewer than he had over his first two seasons.
Tucker had eight catches on nine targets for 145 yards and three scores against the Commanders last week and led all NFL players, regardless of position, with 40.90 fantasy points. Heading into Week 4, he’s the only Raiders player with a touchdown catch.
Tucker remains available in 96 percent of leagues.
