WaveX, Hyderabad’s T-Hub form alliance to strengthen India’s creative, content and media-tech startups

Startup accelerator platform WaveX and Hyderabad-based T-Hub, which is one of the largest startup hubs globally, have entered into a memorandum of understanding to boost India’s creative, content and media-technology startup ecosystem. 10 incubation centres Structured incubation, mentorship and access to infrastructure as well as networks are to be provided to Indian startups under the collaboration. With T-Hub as anchor institution, WaveX will establish up to 10 incubation centres across the country under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B). These centres will serve as hubs of innovation for startups and creators in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC XR) sector. WaveX is a part of the Ministry’s WAVES initiative aimed at nurturing innovation in the media and entertainment sectors. CEOs of Wavex and T-Hub signed the MoU in the presence of I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Telangana’s IT Secretary Sanjay Kumar, the Ministry said on Tuesday (October 28). India’s AVGC-XR sector is witnessing rapid growth and poised to emerge as a major driver of the creative economy. WaveX has been conceptualised as a national accelerator platform to nurture startups and empower creators in media, entertainment and immersive technology, Mr. Jaju said. Mr. Kumar said the partnership between WaveX and T-Hub will help in creating a nationwide ecosystem for creative entrepreneurship. It will support young creators in transitioning from individual participants to organised business units, enabling them to scale globally. T-Hub, ISB to support AI startups Separately, T-Hub and the Indian School of Business (ISB) announced a partnership to support AI-led, deep-tech and research-driven startups that operate at the intersection of science, technology, and business. AI Factory or the initiative for which they are collaborating, is India’s first-of-its-kind platform focused on transforming India’s potential in the Artificial Intelligence space into market-ready, scalable ventures, they said. ISB will be participating through its incubation arm DLabs. Based at ISB’s Hyderabad campus, the AI Factory will bring together entrepreneurs, alumni, policymakers and industry leaders to drive innovation and venture creation. The startups will gain access to T-Hub’s network of mentors, investors and ecosystem partners alongside ISB’s academic expertise and research capabilities. Startups will also benefit from shared access to technical infrastructure, including compute resources and sandbox environments for AI model development as well as market access through T-Hub’s domestic and international corporate networks. The one-year partnership builds on both institutions’ commitment and is designed to accelerate development and deployment of scalable AI solutions across sectors such as healthcare, sustainability, digital transformation, and industrial AI.
