The battle for Macomb County supremacy heats up Friday night when the Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans travel to face the Macomb Dakota Cougars in a matchup of 3-0 teams.
The Titans last week pulled off a 24-21 overtime victory against Clinton Township Chippewa Valley in which senior running back Jaiden Alston powered the offense with 71 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Dakota’s suffocating defense has surrendered just 17 total points through three games, including last week’s 17-7 road win at New Baltimore Anchor Bay behind the leadership of quarterback Nikkos Davis.
Dakota got by Stevenson, 24-9, in last year’s head-to-head in September.
Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, September 19 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
