AVON, Ohio — Dane Sexton ran back a field goal blocked by teammate Jakob Weatherspoon, and Avon rolled Friday night to a 28-0 win against Olmsted Falls.
The Eagles (4-1), who are ranked third in the cleveland.com high school football Top 25, denied the No. 10 Bulldogs (3-2) on three trips inside the 20-yard line as part of their defensive performance. They gave up 219 yards rushing and much of it came on a couple of big runs by junior quarterback Cam Pesch.

Owen Singleton ran the football 15 times for 69 yards, while Pesch picked up 99 yards on 10 carries for Falls, which looks to bounce back next week at Amherst (2-3).
Avon, which heads to Berea-Midpark (4-1) next week, rushed for three of its other touchdowns. Cam Wendell scored on the Eagles’ opening drive but left late in the second quarter because of an injury. Senior Quiante Smith, who also left with an injury, scored once with 58 yards on seven carries. Junior Michael Colburn added another touchdown before halftime, capping a 15-play, 94-yard drive.
The Eagles rushed for 133 yards, while senior quarterback Blake Elder threw for 163 yards on 13-of-20 passing. He utilized seven receivers on his passes.
