Dua Lipa paid homage to another hometown classic Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, performing a cover of Blondie’s “One Way or Another” during her Radical Optimism tour. “Here in New York, I’m actually spoiled with the choice,” she told the crowd, before revealing, “tonight we thought we could do something [by] a real New York icon…let’s just go for it.”
Fans began cheering as soon as the guitar riffs started, and sang every word of Dua’s cover of the 1978 track with her and her band, all clad in black.
A concert attendee who uploaded the video to YouTube captured Dua and her band digging into the rendition, singing in close quarters toward the end of the song. Fans gave her around a 20-second ovation.
