Walking outside the Google office in Bengaluru has turned into an obstacle course, as highlighted in a recent video shared online. Cracked service roads, broken footpaths, and encroachments have made daily commutes risky for pedestrians. The clip, filmed near Bagmane Tech Park, shows how little attention this busy IT stretch has received despite being home to global companies.
The person recording the video can be seen walking along the road while pointing to potholes and damaged walkways. “The condition is really pathetic, and there is no walking space,” he says, navigating the unsafe surroundings.
Unsafe For Pedestrians
The video caption reads, “Let’s see what it takes to walk outside Google Bengaluru. One word: unsafe. Both sides’ footpaths are broken and encroached, while the service road is riddled with potholes. What should be the pride of Bengaluru is getting the least attention from GBA. The further you go, the worse it gets. We urge urgent action to restore safe, walkable footpaths here.”
Along with the poor road condition, the video also highlights the slow-moving Blueline Metro construction near Bagmane Tech Park. Residents say it has only added to the chaos, forcing pedestrians to walk dangerously close to vehicles.

Residents React With Frustration
Many Bengaluru residents voiced their disappointment in the comments section. A person said, “This is actually better than all other roads we travel daily.”
Another user pointed out that “Encroachment is the worst issue in Bengaluru. In Kundalahalli entire service road… has been encroached.”
Others shared their own experiences in nearby areas, including Bagmane Constellation Business Park, which houses Amazon, Samsung, and Publicis. “The local MLA does not give a damn about the people that commute daily,” one individual wrote.
A commuter noted how the service road under the bridge collapses during rain despite the heavy tax contributions of tech employees. Another suggested removing footpaths completely if authorities cannot protect them from encroachment, saying that the space could be used to widen roads instead.
Calls For Corporate Pressure
The discussion also touched on the role of large companies in this IT corridor. A comment read, “They care less about this stretch because we don’t have voting power. In any other country, CEOs of major firms would negotiate with the government for the safety of their employees.”
Mentions were made of major firms such as Google, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, and Swiggy, with residents urging them to step in and raise the issue with authorities.
Bengaluru’s poor infrastructure has been a recurring problem for years. Recently, logistics firm BlackBuck announced its decision to exit the Outer Ring Road area, openly citing inadequate infrastructure as a key factor.
The latest video has once again highlighted how even the most prominent IT zones are struggling with basic road safety.
