He claimed that he loves coaching at Washington, and the departure of his family to Arizona has to do with stability for his daughters. “We love coaching at the University of Washington,” Fisch said. “And the ridiculousness of people that want to claim that because my wife and daughters are living in Arizona, because I have a 16-year-old who’s been in five different schools in the last eight years, to finish her high school, has anything to do with my decision. “Or the ridiculousness of just putting my name on a list just to do it.” Head Coach Jedd Fisch Press Conference: November 10, 2025 https://t.co/4Nv73vuP4d— Washington Football (@UW_Football) November 10, 2025 Fisch said that putting his name on coaching lists hurts the Huskies in recruiting, his staff and the team’s players. “My hope is that our players, our coaches, our families understand how much we love it at Washington,” Fisch said. Fisch is excited for the future of the program at Washington, including some of the young players on the roster, like sophomore quarterback Demond Williams. He thinks people putting his name on coaching lists don’t understand what he’s trying to accomplish at Washington, saying they “have no idea what’s happening” with the Huskies. “We’ve spent a ton of money into building this program the way we want to build it, and I had a great hand in all the facilities,” Fisch said. “I was a big part of making the decisions on how we wanted to recreate this space, to give our players an unbelievable opportunity to have a recovery room that they never had. “Working on making sure that they have the best nutrition they could possibly have. Give them great new meeting rooms, new office spaces for our coaches. I think, unfortunately, what happens is they just want to tie coaches to lists, and then we have to sit there and defend it.” Washington will host 2-8 Purdue on Saturday at Husky Stadium. The Huskies will then go on the road against UCLA on Nov. 22 and finish the regular season at home against No. 9 Oregon on Nov. 29. For more on the NCAA, head to Newsweek Sports.
