War fallen to be honoured as communities rally round for Remembrance Sunday

The fallen from two World Wars and beyond will be honoured at a number of local ceremonies. People in Buckie and surrounding communities will come together to pay their respects on November 9 for mark Remembrance Sunday. Members of the public are being invited to join with veterans, serving Armed Forces members and local organisations at Buckie's Cluny Square for the commemoration parade and service. Scheduled to get under way at 10.40am from the Royal British Legion Buckie branch, the parade is set to feature veterans, emergency services and other organisations, including the Boys' Brigade and Buckie and District Pipe Band, finishing at Cluny Square where the service of remembrance will be held. Parade commander for this year is Peter McPhee. Rev Canon Jeremy Paisey from All Saints Episcopal Church in the town is due to lead the service. During the service, wreaths will be laid in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of freedom.
