W Cape govt says investment summit expected to create 45 000 jobs

The Western Cape government says a recently held investment summit in Cape Town is expected to create around 45 000 jobs. Premier Alan Winde says they’ve entered into a new international partnership with the Paris Region, focusing on technology, tourism, and creative industries. He says more than 200 investment-ready projects were also showcased. Winde says more than 520 delegates came to the investment summit. “These were looking at sectors like the green economy and energy, agribusinesses and agri-processing, the manufacturing economy, looked at green hydrogen. There were some great deals made with the investors, 1668 meetings took place during this period. The analysis of the meetings and talking to those people who had those meetings, we asked for feedback, and 81 percent of the participants rated the meetings as good to excellent. That really bodes well with attracting more and more investment into our region,” adds Winde. Related video | Tourism Investment Summit | Minister of Tourism Patricia de Lille shares more
