The 2025 volleyball season came to a close on Saturday, with all classifications hosting their state finals. Here are the results from Saturday’s state championship games: Class 4A: (1) Marist Catholic 3, (7) The Dalles 0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-20) After falling to Marshfield in the state finals last year, Marist Catholic returned with a vengeance in 2025 as they smashed The Dalles in straight sets for the Class 4A volleyball state championship. The Spartans beat the Riverhawks 25-15, 25-10, 25-20 for the program’s fifth state title. Marist Catholic has now played in each of the last three Class 4A title games, winning two of them. The Dalles finishes its 2025 season with an 18-5 record after winning the Tri-Valley Conference. The Riverhawks last won a volleyball state title in 1989 and haven’t played in the state finals since 1994. Class 3A: (1) Valley Catholic 3, (2) Westside Christian 1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-22) With a four-set victory on Saturday night at North Bend High School, the Valley Catholic volleyball team is now back-to-back Class 3A state champions. The Valiants bested Westside Christian 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-22 in the state finals. It’s the fifth state championship for Valley Catholic, all of which have come under Becky Kemper since 2018. Westside Christian’s season ends with a 25-3 record. The Eagles were the runner-up in the Lewis & Clark League and all of their losses in 2025 came at the hands of Valley Catholic. The Eagles’ only losses on the season came at the hands of Class 1A champion Crane and Class 3A runner-up Westside Christian. This was Clatskanie’s first trip to the volleyball state championship game. The Tigers finish the season with a 24-4 record, having won the Northwest League. Class 1A: (1) Crane 3, (10) Imbler 1 (26-24, 25-15, 21-25, 25-17) The Crane volleyball team is headed back home with its third consecutive Class 1A volleyball state championship after a four-set victory over Imbler on Saturday night at La Grande High School. The Mustangs bested the Panthers 26-24, 25-15, 21-25, 25-17 for their third overall title (all coming in the past three years). Imbler, the No. 10 seed in the Class 1A state tournament, ends its season with a 26-7 record. This was the Panthers’ first loss since Sept. 30 against Joseph and Imbler had since been on a 12-game winning streak.
