In a courageous incident, a woman passenger managed to save herself from three armed men disguised as auto-rickshaw drivers. The incident took place on the Phillaur Ludhiana stretch of National Highway 44 in Jalandhar, Punjab.
According to police, the woman had booked an auto-rickshaw to travel to her village. Soon after the ride began, three men inside the vehicle threatened her with sharp weapons and tried to snatch her belongings.
Instead of giving up, the woman fought back. In a desperate attempt to escape, she hung from the side of the moving auto and shouted for help from other commuters on the busy highway.
The driver tried to speed away and even rammed into a car to shake her off. But eventually the vehicle lost its balance and overturned on the road.
Further, nearby people rushed to the spot to help the woman. Two of the attackers were caught by the public and handed over to the highway police. The third accused managed to flee but police have launched a search operation to track him down.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media with many users praising the woman for being so brave.
