On September 19, US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping sealed the long-awaited TikTok deal during an 8-hour phone call. Along with finalizing the agreement, the leaders discussed trade, tariffs, and other key issues affecting US-China ties. This marked Trump’s first call with Xi in three months. Trump later called the conversation “very productive,” saying they made progress on trade, fentanyl, the Russia-Ukraine war, and approving the TikTok deal.
