Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has publicly debunked rumors circulating about his death, saying he wished the fake news was spread by big bloggers like Linda Ikeji.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, Agu said if it were any of the big bloggers who carried the false information, he would have sued them for defamation.
“If it were any of these big bloggers in Nigeria, the likes of Tunde Ednut, Linda ikeji, Gossipmill, I would have sued them for defamation, economic and business damage, cyber harassment, knowing that’s something will likely come out of the lawsuit.”
However, he explained that he refrained because the blogger involved is “still struggling with likes.”
“But lo and behold, it’s a poor blogger, he or she is even struggling with likes and views”.
The Nollywood star also expressed disappointment at how easily people fall for unverified stories.
“What baffles me is that in this 21st century, 2025, a lot of people are still gullible to believe such things without confirming whether it is true or not. Fans and families, disregard any rumours or rebuke anyone spreading such diabolical news about me,” he said.
