Vice-President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan, on his first trip to Tamil Nadu after assuming office, visited Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai on Wednesday. As the Vice-President arrived in Coimbatore on October 28, he visited Tiruppur on Wednesday before arriving in Madurai in the evening. At the Madurai Airport, he was received by Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Virudhunagar MP Manickam Tagore, Madurai District Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar, City Police Commissioner J. Loganathan and others. At the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple he was accompanied by BJP State President Nainar Nagendran, Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple Board of Trustees Chairperson Rukmini Palanivel Rajan, Mr. Praveen Kumar, temple officials and others. Temple priests explained Mr. Radhakrishnan about the the temple history and other intricate details of the deities in the temple. After an overnight stay at Circuit House, he would leave in the morning to attend Muthuramalinga Thevar Jayanthi event at Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district.
