Vicario’s complaints ring true as Tottenham continue to struggle with home comforts

Tottenham Hotspur continue to struggle at home as Manchester United leave N17 with a point The dramatic game between Tottenham and Manchester United ended as a 2-2 draw. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring against his former manager, Thomas Frank, in the first half. Late in the second half, Mathys Tel came off the bench to equalize for Spurs before Richarlison scored in the 91st minute to put Spurs in the lead. In the dying moments of the match, Matthijs de Ligt leaped up for a corner kick and scored a header in the 96th minute to end the game 2-2. Over the past year, Spurs have played 20 home matches but have won only three. They maintain a strong record away from home, but have struggled to find wins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The circumstances that have led to this absurd record remain a mystery. However, following their dismal 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend, Guglielmo Vicario, according to TBR Football, criticized the atmosphere in the stadium and urged fans to show more support. He said: “We have spoken. We need cooler heads [during the games]. If we had a bit more help during some situations from the stands, maybe we could do a bit better. But we can’t do anything about that. It was a big, painful situation. They can express their pain.” Vicario regretted his comments, as he faced instant backlash from fans on social media. Can Spurs solve their home troubles? Tottenham need to get back to winning ways at home if they hope to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season and remain competitive in both the Champions League and FA Cup. Tottenham finished 17th in the league last season but fortunately qualified for the Champions League by winning the Europa League against Manchester United. However, their place in Europe’s elite competition could be in jeopardy if they can’t find a solution to their home form. As reported by Sky Sports, Thomas Frank still just has one win at home this season, which came on Match Day 1 of the Premier League against newly promoted Burnley. Matthijs de Ligt’s late equalizer meant that Tottenham are winless at home in their last five fixtures in the Premier League.
