Vernon Health joins rural hospitals collaborating in new network

VIROQUA, Wis. (WEAU) – Vernon Health is joining nine other Wisconsin hospitals to form the Wisconsin High Value Network.
Health officials say the network will bring new technologies and workflows by providing the hospitals the chance to work together on issues that may be affecting them.
Officials say the network will also benefit people looking for healthcare in rural areas.
“It’s important that our communities have access to care. I think these ten organizations proudly have a scope of services that they have been providing. We hope that the High Value Network opens up other opportunities for those hospitals to partner on clinical coordination, scopes of services, and other things to best serve our communities,” says Vernon Health CEO David Hartberg.
Officials add that the purpose of the network is to figure out how to care best for their communities.
“These are strong hospitals that are looking for ways to even be stronger to serve their community. We want patients to not have to travel for care. These are ways in which we think we can explore new opportunities that maybe weren’t present to us previously. As technology continues to change, I think that these clinically integrated networks can only become stronger,” says Hartberg.
The network is organized by Cibolo Health, who also has similar networks in five other states.
