India’s youngsters Veer Shah and Anushka Chhabria clinched a bronze medal in the Under-14 Mixed Doubles category at the Pickleball World Cup 2025 in Florida on Friday night. This marked India’s 12th medal at the tournament. For both Veer and Anushka, the bronze was their second medal of the event, following their contribution to India’s junior team medal on Thursday. Anushka also added to her tally with another medal in the Age 34 and Below (3.5 DUPR) category, showcasing her consistency across multiple events. Earlier, Veer was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his stellar performance in the team event, underlining his impressive form throughout the tournament. In the Under-14 Mixed Doubles category, the Indian duo advanced to the playoffs after finishing second in the group stage. They began the knockout stage on a strong note, defeating Costa Rica 6-0 in the first round. However, in the second round, India went down to Australia 2-4 in a tightly contested encounter. Displaying great resilience and determination, Veer and Anushka bounced back in the third round, registering a dominant 5-1 victory to secure the bronze medal for India. Australia went on to win the gold medal, while Costa Rica settled for silver. With this achievement, India’s campaign at the Pickleball World Cup continues to underline the nation’s growing talent in the sport.
