Vanessa Kirby welcomes first child with fiancé Paul Rabil

Vanessa Kirby has welcomed her first child with her fiancé Paul Rabil. Lacrosse player Paul, 39, confirmed the happy news on Instagram – sharing sweet pics of Vanessa, 37, and the newborn. The couple have not confirmed the name or sex of the baby, but Paul shared some musings about new parenthood on Instagram. “I'm learning that becoming a parent slows you down and wakes you up at the same time,” he said. “I'm really grateful for everyone's health, that I get to wake up every day to mum's enormous love, and that we get to have you in our lives now.” The pics shared include shots of Vanessa lying down with the baby, Paul cradling the baby, and a pic of the tot’s feet. He also made a nod to his lacrosse playing, sharing a picture of two lacrosse sticks, one full-sized and one junior, adding: “For your first cradle stick. It'll hold many stories and blessings. Likely broken windows too. Balls are allowed in the house.” Vanessa revealed she was pregnant in June at a photocall for the Fantastic Four, showing off her baby bump in a black, sheer dress. Her character in the film, Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, also becomes a mother for the first time, something she discussed with Entertainment Tonight. “It was a daunting journey because [Storm] really is a working mother, a working superhero mother,” she said. “She was pregnant for half the movie, she gives birth, and I guess something that she really taught me that I didn't fully know is that you can do everything. You can have it all. “She gave me a lot of confidence in that.” Vanessa, who won a Bafta for portraying Princess Margaret in The Crown, also said she found it “revolutionary” to have a mother at the centre of the family who was also part of the superhero team. “When I first started talking about Sue, I was already so passionate about her,” she said. “It was so exciting to me, this idea of having a pregnant superhero, a working mother. Even in the shooting of it, it was surreal because I had this pregnancy bump, but I was so included in everything. “It was very daunting. I really cared and it’s been a great honour to play her. I know that I’m just one of many that’s kind of got to know her over the years.”
