Vande Bharat Sleeper: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that the second train is under construction and is expected to be ready by October 15, 2025. Both trains will be launched simultaneously. The first train was introduced in September 2024.

Vande Bharat Sleeper: Indian Railways is continuously working on passenger amenities. Following the successful operation of semi-high-speed trains, the Railways is preparing to take major steps in long-distance semi-high-speed travel. The Railways plans to launch two Vande Bharat Sleeper trains simultaneously. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that the second train will be launched only after it is fully ready. This will provide passengers with a fast and comfortable journey.

Train expected to be ready by October 15

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that the second train is under construction and is expected to be ready by October 15, 2025. Both trains will be launched simultaneously. The first train was introduced in September 2024. After completing its trials, the train is parked at the Shakur Basti Coaching Depot in Delhi. As soon as a second train is available, the route will be finalized and the Vande Bharat Sleeper service will begin. The Vande Bharat Sleeper train will run at a maximum speed of 180 km/h. This will be one of the fastest sleeper services on the Railways.

The sleeper version of the train will transform long-distance travel.

Chair car Vande Bharat trains are popular for short-distance travel. However, the sleeper version will transform long-distance travel. It will offer speed and comfort. Possible routes could be Delhi-Patna or Delhi-Ferozepur. The train will offer several new amenities. Each berth will have a reading light and a USB charging port. A modular pantry will provide improved catering. Public announcements and a visual information system will be available, along with CCTV.

Special berths and restrooms will be available for disabled passengers. The first AC coaches will have hot showers. Furthermore, improved interiors, display panels, and comfortable berths will be available. Railway officials say this train will improve medium- and long-distance travel. Passengers will be delighted with the high speed and modern service. The Vande Bharat Sleeper will accelerate the modernization of railways.
