This morning, a shooter opened fire on an ICE detention facility in Dallas. CNN reports that one victim has died and two more were injured in the shooting. The shooter is also dead.
According to current reporting, no ICE officers were injured in the attack, and all of the victims are confirmed to be detainees. The shooter’s motive is still unknown.
So people are kind of scratching their heads at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s response to the incident. On X, Noem wrote, “While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.”
Vice President JD Vance echoed these sentiments, writing, “The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop. I’m praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families.”
