Earlier, it was reported that an earthquake occurred in Kamchatka Krai of the Russian Federation. Following this incident, Yusuf Qobiljonov, Uzbekistan’s Consul General in Vladivostok, urged citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan currently in the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia to remain cautious.
It was stated that today, September 19, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 was recorded in the Pacific Ocean near the shores of Kamchatka Krai. Tremors of up to 7 points were felt in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Vilyuchinsk. A tsunami warning was issued. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, there have been no reports of casualties or destruction. Emergency services have been placed on high alert.
It was reported that the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok is in constant contact with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the country, the regional government, and other relevant authorities. Citizens are urged to strictly follow the instructions of emergency services and to remain calm.

It is worth noting that earlier, the strongest earthquake since 1952 occurred in Kamchatka. According to geophysicists, this earthquake belongs to the traditional subduction type. Scientists estimated its magnitude at 8.7.
