Enterprises in Uzbekistan’s trade sector contributed more than UZS 20.2 trillion ($1.6bn) in taxes in the first seven months of 2025, according to official reports.
During January–July, a total of 147,211 legal entities engaged in trade activities paid taxes, reflecting the sector’s significant role in the country’s economy.
Of this total, 20 major enterprises accounted for UZS 1.5 trillion ($120.4mn), or 7.8%, of the tax payments. These companies reported a combined turnover of UZS 30.5 trillion ($2.4bn), while benefiting from UZS 213.1bn ($17.1mn) in tax exemptions.
The 20 enterprises’ tax contributions included UZS 552.9bn ($44.4mn) in VAT, UZS 373.8bn ($30mn) in excise tax, and UZS 294bn ($23.6mn) in profit tax.
They also paid UZS 203.5bn ($16.3mn) in personal income tax (PIT), UZS 123.2bn ($9.9mn) in social tax, UZS 20.3bn ($1.6mn) in property tax, and UZS 10.7bn ($859,124) in other taxes.
