About UZS 13.5 trillion ($1.1bn) in value-added tax (VAT) was refunded to taxpayers in Uzbekistan during the first nine months of 2025, according to the State Tax Committee. From January to September, 4,272 organizations submitted a total of 8,129 applications for VAT refunds, the agency said. The manufacturing sector accounted for the largest share of reimbursements — UZS 9.2 trillion ($759mn) — followed by services with UZS 1.7 trillion ($140mn) and transport with UZS 820.4bn ($68mn). As of October 1, the number of VAT-paying entities rose by 17.6% year-on-year, reaching 234,711. The majority operate in trade, agriculture, and industry. Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan’s average monthly nominal income, including taxes and other payments, reached UZS 6.17mn ($509) in January–September 2025, a 19.2% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, tax revenues in Uzbekistan reached UZS 158.7 trillion ($13bn) in the first nine months of 2025, up 18% from a year earlier. Profit tax contributed the most with UZS 35.4 trillion ($2.9bn), followed by VAT at UZS 32.5 trillion ($2.7bn) and personal income tax at UZS 30.3 trillion ($2.5bn).
