An Uzbek man has been sentenced to prison in the Russian city of Syktyvkar for organizing his wife's illegal stay in the country, Komiinform reported. According to court documents, between September 6 and December 26 of last year, the man, while in Russia, conspired with other individuals to arrange the illegal stay of his wife, a citizen of Uzbekistan. He purchased fake labor patents and other official documents to create the appearance that she was legally residing in Russia. The forged documents were presented to migration service officers. However, experts identified signs of forgery, leading to the initiation of a criminal case. As a result, the man's wife was deported from Russia. During the trial, the defendant fully admitted to the charges against him. According to the verdict issued on September 26, he was found guilty of purchasing and storing forged documents, as well as organizing illegal migration using fake documents and the internet as part of a group. He was sentenced to one year and six months in prison. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force. It is worth noting that earlier, five citizens of Uzbekistan were arrested in St. Petersburg, Russia. The detainees, aged between 22 and 40, were involved in a mass brawl in the Grechesky residential area.
