EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -UW-Eau Claire invited kids of all ages and abilities to attend “Blu’s Halloween bash,” an event aimed at insuring all children enjoy the holiday On Tuesday, Oct. 28th, UW-Eau Claire’s campus ambassadors held the event for the second year in a row. Ambassadors organized games, door prizes, crafts and even a sensory book-reading Event organizer Dana Olson says “I’m a special education major, so I really value making sure there are inclusive spaces for kids of all ages and abilities to have fun and enjoy the holidays, or celebrate fun events. So I decided to start this event because it’s indoors, because Halloween, you never know in Wisconsin, you never know what the weather is gonna be like. It has a lot of activities that kids can enjoy, and we adapted a lot of them to be able to support children of different needs and abilities so that everyone here can enjoy Halloween” The event also included a food drive. With recent cuts to food share benefits in Wisconsin, campus ambassadors wanted to help the those struggling in the community Organizers send donation to The Community Table in Eau Claire. Attendees who donated nonperishable goods received an extra entry into the event’s door prizes
