Many people visit the post office to deal with their mail and package delivery needs. However, the post office isn’t always open some days, especially on federal holidays. If you need to visit the post office to mail something or if you are expecting something in the mail, you might have to wait an extra day to do those things. Here’s what you need to know about USPS hours for Veterans Day and whether or not the post office will be open or delivering mail. Is USPS closed on Nov. 11? Yes, USPS will be closed on Nov. 11 due to the Veterans Day holiday. Because the U.S. Postal Service is a government-run organization, it usually observes federal holidays, meaning mail delivery services are suspended and post offices remain closed. There will also be no mail delivery, with the exception of Priority Mail Express. Regular mail delivery and post office locations will resume services on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025. While post offices will be closed and regular mail delivery will be suspended for the day, USPS is encouraging people who have to access postal products on Veterans Day to use one of the many 2,600 post office kiosks nationwide. The kiosks, which are located in the lobbies of post office locations, can provide the following services 24/7, according to USPS: postage printing for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express and international shipping stamps for purchase weighing and mailing packages getting package tracking information Where can you mail letters and ship packages on Veterans Day? Even though Nov. 11 is a federal holiday, privately-owned mail delivery services, such as FedEx, UPS and Amazon fulfillment will still make deliveries in case you need something delivered on Veterans Day. FedEx Freight, Office, Logistics and Custom Critical are running as usual. Meanwhile, FedEx 1 is operating on a modified schedule. UPS pickup and delivery through UPS Domestic Ground, Air & International, Forwarding and Express Critical are all running as usual. However, Ground Saver and Mail Innovations deliveries are delayed by one more business day because of the holiday. UPS and FedEx store locations are open to customers on the Veterans Day holiday. Amazon does not stop delivering orders on most federal holidays, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
