PTC News Desk: US President Donald Trump on Thursday said he and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have agreed for a one-year deal on the supply of crucial rare earths.Trump also said that he has agreed to reduce fentanyl-related tariffs on China to 10 percent, as both the leaders met in person after a gap of six years, amid prevailing trade tensions. All the rare earths has been settled, and that's for the world, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, adding that the deal was for a year and would be re-negotiated annually.Speaking of his meeting with President Xi, Trump said: We are going to issue a statement with some of the details but overall I guess on the scale of 0 - 10 with 10 being the best, the meeting was a 12. He added: I'll be going to China in April and he'll be coming here sometime after that, whether it's in Florida, Palm Beach or Washington, DC. While speaking highly of Chinese President, Trump described Jinping as a 'tremendous leader of a very powerful country'.The deal is described as a significant breakthrough on rare earths, which are critical minerals essential to high-tech manufacturing, electric vehicles and defence equipment.Meanwhile China has also committed to resume purchasing agricultural good from the US. “We’re in agreement on large amounts, tremendous amounts of soybeans and other farm products to be purchased immediately,” Trump said.Trump met Xi in the South Korean port city of Busan for what he described as a “truly incredible” session between the leaders of the world’s two largest economies.“Overall, on a scale from zero to ten, the meeting was a twelve,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One after departing South Korea.“Very importantly, you know, just the whole relationship is very, very important, and I think it was really good,” he added, calling Xi a “great leader.”
