APTrump urged Senate Republicans in a Truth Social post on Saturday to send the money used to offset the costs of ACA health care premiums “directly to the people” so they can “purchase their own, much better, health care.” US President Donald Trump on Saturday recommended that money be sent directly to people so they can buy their own health insurance, while blasting ObamaCare or the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). President Trump proposed a compromise on health insurance payments, in a Truth Social post made Saturday morning.Trump called on Republicans to send federal payments that would go to insurers under the Affordable Care Act directly to Americans. Taking to Truth Social, Trump stated “I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE, and have money left over.”He added that money would be taken from ‘BIG, BAD Insurance Companies’ and given to the people. Democrats want the new funding bill to include healthcare subsidies that are set to expire for 24 million Americans at the end of the year. However, Republicans argue that Congress should first pass a simple funding bill to reopen the government before discussing other issues.Live EventsTrump’s new idea has already gained support from Republican Senators James Lankford of Oklahoma and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces let people buy health insurance directly from private companies. These plans mainly help those who don’t get coverage through their employers or government programs like Medicare and Medicaid.
