Animesh Pradhan’s story, as the 2nd rank holder in the Civil Services Examination 2023, exemplifies this. Hailing from Odisha, Animesh Pradhan achieved the second rank in the country in his first attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Examination, a feat achieved through his indomitable courage and the support of his family. This all happened during his UPSC preparation, but Animesh Pradhan never gave up. He continued his studies while his mother was undergoing treatment, and ultimately, his hard work paid off. He earned a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from NIT Rourkela with a CGPA of 9.17 in 2021. Later on, he joined the Indian Oil Corporation. After her death, Animesh Pradhan intensified his efforts to fulfil this dream, driven by his desire to honour her sacrifices. He had started preparing after completing graduation. He has always preferred the Odisha IAS cadre and now aims to return to his home state to serve society.
