Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after inaugurating the UP Trade Show, announced that Uttar Pradesh will soon get a defence corridor and, with Russia’s support, set up a factory to manufacture AK-203 rifles under Make in India. Highlighting UP’s industrial growth, he noted that the state already manufactures 55% of India’s mobile phones. Addressing global disruptions caused by tariffs and sanctions, PM Modi said India is charting a new path of self-reliance, aiming to produce everything “from chip to ship.” Stressing on the government’s focus on ease of doing business, he reiterated that India’s future lies in Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
