Unruly men assault ASI and his junior

The Parappana Agarahara police have arrested a group of three private firm employees who assaulted an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police and police Constable after the police asked them to stop creating nuisance in the middle of the night and disturbing neighbours.

Based on the complaint filed by Ravi V., ASI and his colleague Police Constable Shivakumar, the police arrested Aditya, 27, Suvin Kumar, 27, and Vishal Sameer, 25, working in a private firms, charging them under section 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 121 (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt to a public servant to prevent them from performing their duty), 126 (voluntarily obstructs any person), 351 (criminal intimidation), 132 (assaults or uses criminal force against a public servant while they are performing their duty), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023 on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday night when Mr. Ravi who was on patrolling duty received a complaint around 11.45 p.m. from a resident of Silicon town, Doddanagamangala village that his neighbours are creating a ruckus and disturbing the peace. Mr. Ravi reached the spot and went to the house situated on the second floor and advised the residents not to disturb the neighbours. The residents were reportedly partying in the house with loud music and creating nuisance.

While the police officers were attempting to talk to the three occupants of the house, they confronted the police and demanded to know who had raised the complaint. Mr. Ravi tried to reason with them, but the accused were aggressive, started shouting, hurling abuses, and assaulted him. Mr. Shivakumar who rushed to his help was also assaulted and the accused tore his uniform. Mr. Shivakumar managed to alert the control room and asked for the reinforcement. The other patrolling staff rushed to the spot and bundled the accused into the vehicle and took them to the station. The accused have been arrested and taken into custody. They have been subjected to a medical examination to ascertain if they were under he influence of drugs.
