The University of California has released comprehensive data on the postgraduate journeys of its alumni who completed undergraduate degrees between 2001 and 2018. This analysis was compiled by matching university records with data from the National Student Clearinghouse. The report highlights which campuses have the highest proportion of students enrolling in prestigious postgraduate courses such as Law, MBA, Medicine, and PhD programmes. Enrolling In Prestigious Postgraduate Courses According to The Times of India, 36% of University of California undergraduates go on to pursue further education, a significantly higher rate than the 14% average among Americans aged 25 to 45. However, the figures vary considerably across campuses. Some institutions see more students heading into Law and Medicine, while others produce more candidates for Business or Doctoral studies. Top Campuses For Postgraduate Studies UCLA leads in both undergraduate and medical progression, with 42% of students going on to postgraduate studies. Berkeley follows at 39%, with San Diego at 38%. Santa Cruz and Merced rank lowest in progression rates. Medical Education: UCLA leads again, with 8% of its students entering medical fields, followed by San Diego and Irvine at 7%. Only 2% of Santa Cruz graduates pursue medicine. MBA Programmes: Riverside tops the chart with 5%, followed by Irvine, Berkeley, San Diego, and Los Angeles with around 4%.
