University investigating ‘fraudulent’ email sent out to students, alum

An investigation is underway after current and former students at the University of Pennsylvania received a disturbing "fraudulent" email. According to Penn’s director of media relations, Ron Ozio, the email appears to be sent from the university’s Graduate School of Education. "This is obviously a fake, and nothing in the highly offensive, hurtful message reflects the mission or actions of Penn or of Penn GSE," Ozio said. The email students received read in part: "Dear Penn community, The University of Pennsylvania is a dog**** elitist institution full of woke r******. We have terrible security practices and are completely unmeritocratic. We hire and admit morons because we love legacies, donors, and unqualified affirmative action admits. We love breaking federal laws like FERPA (all your data will be leaked) and Supreme Court rulings like SFFA. Please stop giving us money. Warm guards, The University of Pennsylvania." Ozio shared that the university's Office of Information Security is aware of the situation and is currently addressing it.
